ACT Government funding for Certificate III in IT (Game Development)

The Certificate III in IT (Game Development) is designed to introduce students to the many career opportunities available for programmers in games, interactivity and creative industries. Modules of study introduce students to games design, programming and development. This course of study gives participants an understanding of skills and techniques necessary to create fun, innovative games.

The ACT Department of Education and Training is funding the Certificate III for Australian citizens or permanent residents who live and/or work in the ACT and fall into a number of categories.
 
There are full-time and flexible opportunities to study this six month course which runs for 400 hours over 20 weeks. Students that complete this course can go onto the Certificate IV and Advanced Diploma of Professional Game Development. Due to the ACT Government funding, the course cost to eligible students is $350.  

To qualify for funding individuals must fall into one of the following categories:
• People with a disability which may affect access to training and employment
• Indigenous Australians
• Mature aged people (aged 40 years and over)
• Youth at risk (aged 15-19 years)
• Small business (fewer than 20 employees)
