AIE Melbourne is currently accepting Applications from prospective students for the Certificate IV in Screen course to commence mid-July 2007.
The Certificate IV in Screen introduces students to 3D Studio Max and the skills required to produce industry-standard 3D modeling and basic animations. During the course students work through the elements of digital art essential to the games, film, television, design and other related 3D industries.
During this course students will learn about all facets of the production process from initial concept and design through to the final product, whether it be a game or short film. At the completion of this year students can make an informed decision about their preferred future training directions and industry destinations.
While students can graduate with a Certificate IV in Screen, the course is designed as a foundation year and is the same for all animation students, regardless of the Diploma pathway they wish to choose. At the successful completion of the course, students can proceed to a second year of study and complete either the Advanced Diploma of Professional Game Development or the Advanced Diploma of Screen.
The courses run for one year or six months, for those with pre-existing skills, with 20 contact hours per week, and are Austudy approved. Additional bridging courses and intensive study options can also allow students to join in Advanced Diploma study early in 2008 and complete their Certificate IV six months early. The fees for each of these courses are $9,300. This amount is payable upon enrolment, or in individual, flexible, payment options.
