Scholarships for students planning on studying in 2007

AIE is pleased to offer a number of scholarships for students planning on studying in 2007. The following scholarships are available:

Women in Games Scholarship
One scholarship of up to $4100 is available to women studying in the second year of Diploma of Computer Game Development at AIE Canberra. This scholarship is open to students wishing to study 3D animation and games programming. To address the current skills shortages in industry, preference will be given to games programming students applying for entry into the second year of the Diploma of Computer Game Development.

Indigenous Student Scholarship
One scholarship of up to $4100 is available to any Aboriginal or Torres Straight Islander student who is studying in any of AIE Canberra's full time Certificate IV or Diploma courses.

Equity Scholarship
One full scholarship is available to students entering into AIE's Certificate or Diploma courses. This scholarship will be assessed on membership of an equity group and demonstrated potential through portfolio or programming proficiency. The equity groups include:

  • Long–term unemployed
  • Difficult family circumstances
  • Disadvantaged socio-economic background
  • Disability or long-term medical condition
  • Women entering the workforce

Students who are applying for the Certificate IV in Information Technology, Diploma of Computer Game Development or Advanced Diploma of Screen are encouraged to apply. Unfortunately this scholarship is not available to students studying either the Certificate IV in 3D Animation for Games and Film or the Diploma of Screen (3D Studio Max) in partnership with Canberra Institute of Technology.
