January School Holidays 2010 @ AIE Sydney
AIE is pleased to offer a range of courses over the January 2010 school holiday period. All students who
participate in a short course will receive a certificate of completion along with a copy of the work
produced in class on CD-ROM/DVD.
The two-day courses cost $220 each. If you book two or more of the two-day courses, you will receive a
10% discount off the total price. Get together with your friends and save!

Courses for 10 – 15 year olds
Make Your Own Super Mario! NEW!
Do you want to explore how platform games are made without having to start from the beginning? Start
with a half built plaformer – just like Super Mario - and learn how to change the way it plays, through
editing existing scripts, and changing the art, making it into something of your own design. All students
will leave with a copy of their final game, along with the work of their classmates, on CD.
9am – 5pm, Mon 11th & Tues 12th January 2010
Character Animation Junior NEW!
Animate your own 3D characters using intuitive 3D tools to create your own short movies. Students will
also learn about video editing and use sound effects to create a short movie which they will take home
along with all work created by the class during the workshop on DVD.
9am – 5pm, Wed 13th & Thurs 14th January 2010
COURSES FOR 15 – 18 YEAR OLDS
Create and play your own 3D race track and concept car using 3D modelling tools and a game engine.
Students will be able to leave with their own level and car to play as well as a DVD with captured in-game footage to show to family and friends. This two-day course is suitable for all students from complete beginners to those with experience in 3D animation.
9am – 5pm, Mon 11th & Tues 12th January 2010
Learn how to make the special effects you see in the movies including 3D and composited postproduction
techniques. Students will create and integrate a series of special effects into video format to
take home on DVD. This course is suitable for all students from complete beginners to those with more
experience in 3D Animation.
9am – 5pm, Wed 13th & Thurs 14th January 2010
