Sydney Holiday Courses

July 2018

  • Holiday courses run from 9.30am until 4.30pm.
  • All participants will receive a certificate of completion.
  • Students are encouraged to bring a USB stick to save their work.
  • We ask that students provide their own lunch, morning and afternoon tea where possible as there is NO canteen close by for students to purchase food and lunch is not provided.

Holiday Course Descriptions

Sea Creatures 3D

Make your own weird and wonderful sea creature! Learn to digitally create sea creatures in 3D using the same software used in games and film. Get inspired by the James Cameron: Challenging the Deep Exhibition . Learn techniques in modelling, texturing, animating, lighting and rendering to bring your creation to life. Have your finished movie featured in a special screening at the Australian National Maritime Museum.

Ages: 8 - 12 years
Dates: Wed 18th & Thu 19th July (2 days)
Prerequisites: Basic computer knowledge required and an interest in 3D art
Cost: $180 ANMM members / $200 general

Underwater world

Create an underwater world in 3D inspired by James Cameron: Challenging the Deep Exhibition and your imagination. Design the landscape and the weird and wonderful deep-sea life that has evolved in this strange environment. Learn skills in 3D modelling and texturing and produce your 3D world for use within a game engine. Have your finished movie featured in a special screening at the Australian National Maritime Museum.

Introduction to Game Programming

Introduction to Game Programming teaches students how to program using Javascript and is designed to introduce students to the many career opportunities available for programmers in games and in interactive and creative industries. Modules of study introduce students to the fundamentals of games design and development. This course allows students to gain an understanding of game programming and gives participants a further understanding of skills and techniques necessary to create fun, innovative games.

Ages: 14+ years
Dates: Mon 16th - Thu 19th July (4 days)
Cost: $440
