Overview
The MAYA stream assumes no previous experience with the MAYA software. The course begins with the entry level basics and quickly develops to encompass all aspects of this high-end 3D animation tool: modelling in NURBS, polygons and subdivisions, character rigging and animation, dynamics, lighting, texturing, rendering and compositing. Explore the more advanced aspects of Maya Unlimited, Fluids, Cloth and Fur.
Short Film
The content of this short story
in entirely up to you. The teachers will help you devise
an idea that is achievable and covers the assessment requirements.
Containing at least one central character, you will learn
varied techniques in modelling, lighting, advanced texture
creation, hair, bones, animation of a human figure and advanced
lip synchronisation. The end result of this project is a
short film that demonstrates your skills as a 3D artist.
Commercial Production
Combining the skill
of all members of the class, you will produce a respectable
short film or commercial or cut scene or.....Each year is
different but all projects have industry involvement all
the way through. With the guidance of your teacher, you can
slot into the position that you feel most comfortable in;
such as animator, texture artist, or even group supervisor.
