Take your VFX and Post-Production skills to the next level!

AIE is calling all graduates looking to get into film and visual effects, starting their own post-production studio or wanting to take their animation and visual effects skills to the next level. A brand new post-graduate program is being launched this month to further power graduates into film production opportunities and careers.

“We want to give film graduates the same opportunities and success that our game graduates have had through our Games Incubator Program, through which numerous games and development studios have been created” said AIE CEO, John De Margheriti.

“Our students are already finding work with the top studios, such as Weta Digital, Animal Logic, Luma and Rising Sun Pictures. This new program is primarily about creating opportunities for graduates to start their own studios and design their own visual effects” said Mr De Margheriti

The program immerses participants in a hyper-focused, 6-month intensive post-production studio environment working on unique client-driven film projects. From day one participants will be plunged into an industry pipeline found in many practising studios working towards beautifully crafted visuals. They will plan, develop, manage and undertake a group visual effects project. They will learn and experience the key professional practice skill sets needed to succeed as a studio contractor or freelance artist.

The program is being directed and delivered by experienced VFX Supervisor and AIE Screen Teacher Ryan Ware, who has worked on the visual effects for all three Hobbit movies (An Unexpected Journey, Desolation of Smaug and Battle of the Five Armies) as well as Wolverine and Man of Steel.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates to develop their skills beyond the norm, as well as plan, prepare and budget the financial aspects of working as a studio along with sustaining your work in the industry through contract and negotiation skills” says Ryan.

This program will be run on campus from February 2018 and delivered both face to face and online students in small production teams with dedicated workstations in Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide and Online Campuses.
