AIE Students work on Sci-Fi Film ‘Blue World Order’

Talented students from the Academy of Interactive Entertainment (AIE) have played a vital part in bringing Aussie-made sci-fi, Blue World Order (BWO) to the big screen for its premiere this month.

Blue World order was filmed entirely in Canberra, using desert landscapes and modern concrete architecture to paint a stark vision of a not-so-distant future. AIE students worked within a professional post-production team to create stunning results in the visual-effects-heavy film.

With firm nods to 1980s adventure films like Back to the Future and Star Wars, Delorean cars, laser-guns and sharp one-liners, the film is a must see for indie film lovers and sci-fi fans alike.

“This will be the first chance for the public to see the finished result of a wonderful collaborative effort” said BWO Director, Ché Baker.

“Quality effects are so essential to the feel of the film - replete with laser battles, futurescapes and a very particular shot of Telstra Tower. I won’t give the plot away, but I am forever grateful to the AIE for training their students to work in a industry setting to create professional results.”

“There is no greater pleasure than seeing my vision brought to life accurately. The AIE students were integral to building the world of the film. The whole team worked together to create outstanding visual moments in the film. Those electric moments are exactly why we make films,” said Baker.

Blue World Order stars Home and Away star Jake Ryan (“Robbo”), Titanic villain Billy Zane and Aussie screen legend Jack Thompson. Stephen Hunter from The Hobbit makes the most of his middle earth ‘dwarf training’ as Jake Ryan’s comedic sidekick.

Blue World Order special event screenings will continue throughout November and December, with special guests, on-site Deloreans and celebratory champagne. Tickets for Q&A screenings are now for sale online at bwomovie.com. Book now to see the work of talented AIE student's work on the big screen.
