Dante Fabiero - Industry Talk

18-Feb-2011

In the last few days, AIE has been given a rare and exciting opportunity to meet Dante Fabiero, live and in the flesh from Los Angeles, USA. Dante visited all three of our campuses and talked to our students about how he started in the industry and made it to Assisant Director at Fox Studios.

Dante talked about how he began his animation career from the ground up as a production assistant/runner on The Simpsons Movie. He told us how he managed to get promoted to animator within 2 months, and within another 2 months to digital storyboard artist. Fabiero's success has seen him enjoy diverse roles in the animation industry, working on King of the Hill, Curious George, American Dad, Family Guy, and many other animated productions.

Dante talked about the importance of passion for what you do, the humbling experiences of being an unpaid intern (aka office gopher) and how he made himself known. He talked about networking, presentation and maintaining a can-do attitude regardless of the job in front of you. He also talked about the do-not's of working in faced-paced digital space.
