COSGAME 2012 - AIE Melbourne Attempting World Record

Melbourne, Australia: The Academy of Interactive Entertainment (AIE), specialist educator in games, film and 3D animation, are attempting to break the Guinness World Record™ for ‘Largest Crowd dressed as Video Game Characters’ on Saturday the 5th of May 2012, from 11am to 2pm at Federation Square, Melbourne.

AIE is inviting residents and visitors of Melbourne to attend COSGAME to help break the world record currently held by Wisconsin, USA with 425 participants.

Mr. Laurie Costabile, Head of School at AIE Melbourne said, “What a fantastic event for Melbourne’s creative industries. Such a fun way to support our thriving video games industry. Attempting to break this World Record will be an enjoyable and entertaining experience for everyone involved. We are providing show bags for the first 1000 people that register with many other prizes and giveaways to hand out, that have been generously donated by our partners”.

AIE is demonstrating its support for the Video Games Industry and raising further awareness for our respected and prosperous industry in Australia.

“The Australian Games Industry is behind some amazing, top selling and award winning apps created right here in Australia. It is important for us to be proud of the standard of work we are producing in our own country and this is one of many unconventional ideas that we’ve come up with to celebrate this!”, explained Mr. John DeMargheriti, CEO of AIE, Big World, and Micro Forte Studios.

All participants must register for this event and abide by the Guinness World Record™ guidelines in order to be successfully counted towards this attempt.
