AIE wins Small RTO of the Year at ACT Training Excellence Awards

07-Sep-2012 Last night the Academy of Interactive Entertainment (AIE) won the Small Registered Training Organisation (RTO) of the Year at the 2012 ACT Training Excellence Awards. The award was presented by ACT Minister for Education and Training, Dr Chris Bourke. Accepting the award on behalf of AIE was Mrs Vicki De Margheriti, AIE CEO.

“I’m really proud of all our staff whose passion and hard work have been recognised by our peers in the ACT training community” De Margheriti enthused. “It’s really fantastic.”

AIE is a specialist educator for the game development, 3d animation and visual effects industries, established in Canberra in 1996. The organisation has undergone a significant period of growth over the last year by launching campuses internationally, expanding online course offerings and establishing the innovative AIE Incubator Program. The Incubator Program supports graduates in creating their own creative digital media businesses through business training, scholarships, mentoring, office space as well as hardware and software resources.

“This award firmly endorses our position as the leading specialist educator for game development and animation. We hope to leverage this to help drive our expansion internationally” said Vicki De Margheriti.

AIE has campuses in Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Seattle and Lafayette. AIE is now in the running for the Australian Training Awards which are held in Melbourne on 16th November.
