VET Student Loans

Subject to the passage of legislation and subsequent approval of AIE as a Provisional Provider, VET Student Loans will commence on 1 January 2017, replacing the current VET FEE‑HELP scheme, which will cease on 31 December 2016.

VET Student Loans are an Australian Government loan scheme for the Vocational Education and Training sector that is part of the Higher Education Loan Program (HELP). Students studying Advanced Diplomas may be eligible to apply for a VET Student Loan to defer the cost of their tuition fees. Link to VET Student Loans Page.

Courses will be subject to maximum loan caps and students will be required to pay any fee over and above that cap.

AIE has a number of scholarships that are available to for all eligible students of up to $10,000. More info here.

Payment Plans

AIE appreciates that for many students payment of fees prior to the commencement of study can be difficult. For this reason, students may be offered the option of paying fees via a payment plan which allows for students to pay their fees via installments.

A first payment must be made on or prior to the due date on the invoice, with installments of a specific amount to be made as per the payment plan. Students are required to sign a Tuition Fee Repayment Contract when they make arrangements to pay using this option. The contract states that the student agrees to pay the fees by specific dates and acknowledges the terms and conditions of the contract.

Students in an Advanced Diploma course that has census dates in 2016 may be eligible for VET FEE-HELP. Subject to the passage of legislation, the VET FEE‑HELP scheme will cease on 31 December 2016 and will be replaced by VET Student Loans.

AIE students using the current VET FEE‑HELP scheme for their study will be able to continue under current VET FEE-HELP arrangements until 31 December 2017.
