Online Campus

AIE's Online Campus spontaneously burst into existence in late 2012 as a dedicated effort to develop and bring AIE’s Online courses, which have been running since 2005, to a worldwide audience. The Online Campus is staffed by friendly and outgoing people who make every effort to inject the AIE experience into all communication and course delivery.  All of our teachers are driven, passionate and experienced educators.

Our Administration team is experienced in online correspondence and communication, and we endeavour to get students sorted into the course of their choice as smoothly as possible. We ensure they are equipped with all the required documents via email and software which is posted to each enrolled student.

The Online Campus offers a range of courses specialising in game development, game design, 3D animation and programming. The courses are taught in virtual classrooms via Adobe Connect and there are flexible options for those who are too busy to keep to a study schedule. Simply let us know what your study goals are and we will work to fit your needs as best we can.

If you are a high school teacher and are interested in us arranging catered courses for your school, we can operate the course for you, or we can train you to deliver the course to your class.

AIE | Online Lecture / Guided Learning

Lecture / Guided Learning

A live interactive lecture or pre-recorded lecture which delivers new key concepts to the learners from the perspective of their specialisation. The intention is that learners reserve questions and discussions until the Tutorial session to keep the lecture short and focused.

AIE | Online Self-directed Learning

Self-directed Learning

Each week learners work through an assortment of content designed to strengthen and develop further understanding of new key concepts introduced in the lecture. The practice content can consist of items like exercises to work through, video tutorials developed at AIE, interactive practice / exploration apps and links to relevant resources for extension. It is assumed a learner has worked through the core Practice content before attending the tutorial.

AIE | Online Tutorials

AIE | Online Open Rooms

Open Rooms

Learners can book into Open rooms with a group of other learners or individually to collaborate or have discussions / help groups that are self-directed. This is representative of a class environment where learners are working on similar concepts or assessments and want a place to work together. It is also able to be used by multi-discipline teams. Open room time slots will be made available to learners before subjects commence and a booking is not re-occurring in the way a tutorial booking is. A teacher is not allocated to this time.

Assignments are given as additional content on top of the practice content and learners will be able to get assistance during the tutorial sessions or via a booked appointment with a teacher if required.
